Breathless Performance Products announced today plans to run a two-car team in the Pirelli World Challenge series in 2013. Accomplished young sports car driver Ernie Francis, Jr. will pilot a Chevrolet Camaro in the GTS class and a Mazda 2 in the B-Spec class.
Beginning in 2013, at the age of 15, Ernie Francis, Jr. is the youngest licensed professional driver competing in the Pirelli World Challenge championship series. Francis has a unique opportunity to showcase his exceptional driving skills in both the Camaro and Mazda 2 - while competing against some of the best racers in America.
In 2011, at age 13, Francis completed his first year of competition in Spec Miata with 18 races resulting in 18 Top Ten finishes, 10 Top Five finishes, 6 Podium appearances and 2 Wins.
In 2012, Francis’ skills were validated at age 14, becoming the season Champion of both NASA (National Auto Sport Association) and FARA (Formula Atlantic Racing Association). Ernie competed in 34 races producing 32 Top Ten finishes, 26 Top Five finishes, 25 Podium appearances and 21 wins.
