Purpose Built Race Cars

How come there has never been a series of ALL purpose built race cars? We should try that. LMP2/GT2 or LMP1/GT1.

Mostly due o the lack of adjustability. However, there may be a dedicated race class for season 11. In the testing phases now.

I will race this class. better be in the testing and not just saying that lol

I think the dedicated race car class should be the R2 class.  Dubbed "Super GT".  Here are the cars that closely match each other:

Probably not these cars buddy. I will reveal/release a list once I am closer to finalizing the class. With this proposed class there is fairly limited ability to performance balance so I have to be careful how I move forward with this.

There is plenty of room.  You can force stock upgrades or allow certain stage restrictors and extra tire width.

The PI limit for R2 is 875.  For example, the Takata Dome NSX starts at 859 stock.  Even with only 3 paramaters for upgrades there is still lots of room.  You can allow a specific stage restrictor/tire width/and rim style for those that "need" extra PI. Or you can force stock upgrades for those that are more skilled.  The upgrades allowed for this proposed class needs to be determined by officials and not left up to individual racers.  The R2 class cars are skewed with some having close to 600+ while others have around that 500 number or can be adjusted to 500ish with upgrades.  See below for the list of other cars that could be grouped together:

These cars have around 600 +/-.  Even though these are also R2 cars, their build, stats, and "league" is different from the previous cars I mentioned.  If you try a mix and match of these two lists, the imbalance is going to be insane.  

Certain production cars I listed in the previous list don't have the same options as the purpose built race cars but have similar performance values.  

I omitted the mention of the following cars because they either don't fit into purpose built race cars or they are just too crazy and would blow everything away or some other reason.  They are:

#91 200 Dodge Viper GTS-R (too much horsepower)

#26 1998 Porsche AG 911 GT1-98 (doesn't really fit into either sub group in terms of HP, but if included should be in the second  lvl 2 group)

2011 Bugatti Veyron (stupid and not competitive on race tracks with turns, not to mention the 1000+ HP)

1989 Ferrari f40 Competizione (780 HP AND not a purpose built race car)

2008 Koenigsegg CCGT* (This one does have a similar performance standard as the group of cars mentioned above, but it's not wholly purpose built for racing)

2008 Mazda Furai & 2011 Radical SR8 RX (they cars have too little adjustability combined with being too light)

2010 Pagani Zonda R (Over 700 HP and not purpose built race car)

1996 Ferrari F50 GT (Over 700 HP and not purpose built race car)

If not R2, then the class would need to be R1. We already have GT2 cars racing with the series standard "GT" cars. To separate the two would be kind of redundant don't you think?

make sure that darn zr1 racecar is in there and not in gt class

I SWEAR if 11 other people choose the C6.R GT1 next season...

The ZR1 racecar will pull double duty in GT at the current 752 base PI and in GTR at a base PI of 785. Both of course have the ability to be performance balanced. And as always, any racer who remains in the same car from this season into the next season carries their PI over to start the following season.

if that 98 gt1 porsche was ever included idk what i would do because i would never be able to choose.
