@RPC Yes you did beat Hannibal on track by one position. But he came from 17th to get to 8th (with C room time add) thus he earned the Hard Charger award for GT which is the bonus point. so from 37pts earned he goes to 38pts. As far as the points order who is further up the standings...You two are tied so my guess is the sheet went from points which were = to next name H is before R so you are under Hannibal in points. So if you want to get that spot (or higher)....see ya at Suzuka.

No conspiracy fellas. I put the data in exactly as I get it. The forms calculate, I then post it to the website.

I want to win just like the next guy but I will never cheat to do so. One thing that is important to me is my integrity.

Think about this...I don't make excuses, I make results...Never Quit

This doesn't concern me, but it concerns my teammate. To be honest he doesn't care, but I think he deserves his due diligence. DesertDuck 89 is listed as AM but he's won multiple races in GS in I believe Season 7 or 8. I know he hasn't been around for a few seasons but his racing history here in the FSCS rates him a PRO badge.

There is a clause in the PRO/AM system that says that long absences or poor attendance can lead to the revocation or denial of PRO status despite other criteria. I didnt make the call about him being one or the other though. However seeing as he did win races before (season 7 that i know of) i have no issue with moving him to PRO. How about you Pred, do you agree?

Since DesertDuck is running in GT....when he earns a top 10 finish 2 times I will bump him back to PRO, or a top 5 and the status will return immediately.

Sound fair?

Explain Pro vs. Am.
Why does it matter and how can you switch mid season?

The PRO vs AM allows the drivers who may be less skilled or those who have not proven themselves Pro to compete for a championship beyond each classes primary Championship which for an Amateur may be out of reach.

http://forzascs.com/Rules.html  Right under the livery rules

The mid season switch actually should not occur because then it takes a driver who may have been competing for the Amateur Championship out of the hunt.

How your are rated and the criteria you guys have come up with is clear. I guess what I am asking is for more details on it.

Is this separated according to class?

If not, are the points tallied across all classes, meaning that someone who runs in multiple races (lets say SPEC and GT for example), will get there points added together to go towards the PRO/AM championship?

TBH, because season 11 is a bit different than precious seasons Kinks like those that you just mentioned are being ironed out. My initial thought is if an AM is in several different classes we will take his highest and best and use that. Keeps it simple and to the point

My thoughts exactly. They will still finish wherever they finish overall during the race, and they will receive points based on their finishing position just like everyone else. The only difference is that we copy their best class's point total out of the point's grid and put them on a second point's grid. That point's grid is the Am grid where drivers can see where they fall among the rest of the AMs. Its more forgiving as the competition among drivers is hopefully more equal than the overall class(s) that a driver runs in and it also allows a driver to find whichever niche that he or she falls into and show their maximum ability. It was introduced last season to make every single position count to every single driver. To many a 1st place finish in a class isnt the end-all-be-all and to some, with the competitiveness of the series, might not be a viable option *yet*. So therefor a fight for 8th or 15th place in GT might actually be the fight for the AM-Championship.

I for one, looking back, wish this was around when i started. I think i might have had one hell of a run at the AM championship myself lol! with a high of 6th at Camino, and consistent top15 finishes, Roca, Hannibaljazz, and I were in a dog fight til the very end for like 6th place overall in GS. If we had a champ to fight for too back then... Cool

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Hey man! Why am I an AM?? I'm not slow, is that what you think I am!?

A: Woah there junior. Slow down there bud. We aren't saying that anyone that is new here is "slow" because they are an AM. Its just that all we have to go by is your record on other affiliated series and your test session times. Its in no way an insult to your ability, its just that we are monitoring and learning about your driving for a season before we move you up to PRO. Criteria to be moved up will be found in the PRO/AM designation section of the Forum. If you have further inquiries into your placement please PM myself or PredatorUSMC.

Q: Why didnt I get PI this week?

A: It can mean a few things but really what it boils down to is that your car combined with your driving is already balanced inside the field. PI is not awarded or taken each week, and there is no guarantee that a driver will get or lose any.

Q: Has/When will PI be up-dated?

A: We shoot for Tuesday at the latest as we understand that an adjustment is something a driver needs to work on and practice with. Please be patient as there are many more responsibilities with more classes added this season than ever before.

Q: i dont agree with a penalty i was given after a race.

A: This is something that is best handled via PM. There are 2 or more race officials watching and documenting the replays each week. We may miss things as we are only human, and if you think there is something worth debate we will kindly ask for the location, cars involved and time and take a second look so we see fit. But please, keep it off the forum posts as it can cause more drama than needed.

I really think we need a new more popular time for Spec.  I don't know who came up with 11:00 PST, but that really doesn't work as it places most of us in the middle of the day on a Saturday.  Why not an evening start since this is what everyone who signed up originally thought?  How about 8:00pm CST?

On another note of interest, I heard we lost a driver because he had the wrong color number and was penalized for it.  He thought that was too severe and quit the series.  Not good.  Not over something so small.

I like the rule don't misunderstand, but there needs to be some judicial balance too.  For example, there is no rule against knocking cones over on purpose, even though there are such rules in real racing.  Seems to me this is a much better use of penalty power than a different colored number because it actually affects other drivers.

this is done on purpose by slower drivers pretty often to cause the faster guys, that use them, trouble and should be implemented, in my opinion. tracks like mazda hockenheim and sebring, there are corners that heavily rely on those markers. many tracks have other things to mark the brake zones with but many do not have something easily visible to replace them. silverstone and le mans for example have painted walls and sign to use once the cones are gone but many tracks dont have other options and can cause problems for drivers. i only agree with this so strongly because i rely on brake markers at most tracks, even silverstone.

I will admit it now, I did not read any of the other posts...I'm on my phone and I'm watching the end of the INDY race!

Anyhow, I was wondering how, exactly, a Driver can earn only 2 points in a race? I'm only curious after seeing the current drivers points standings for GTR......

Yes we did lose a racer because he had a livery infraction. He received the 2 pt penalty for livery infraction.  Him quitting was his own choice. If you cant take a penalty when HE DID have one and he quit as a protest...I can give crackers with that whine.  There have been other racers who have received similar penalties, they simply fix the infraction and move along.

The exhibition race before the season. It was posted. All rookie/am drivers got 2 points for a show if they completed the race. the highest finishing rookie/am per class got 3 instead of 2.

This is more of a suggestion than a question.

Qually was mayhem last night and a dissappointment.
I lost at least 2 of my 5 hot laps by either slowing down to afford another qualifier the right not to have my ghost inside his car. It also messed me up when I ghosting over/ overtaking non qualifiers.

Sainted's room set up is the best in my opinion. I would have waited to quallify with him if I had know there wasn't a uniformed procedure for this. If you don't know he does a delay between qualifiers, with the qualifying team running first in line, grid ordered by PI. I think teams also have a separate delay. That setup prevents GT cars from being in front of the faster GTR cars. Having the qually team go first also prevents the non quallifiers from being able to mess with them.

Agreed. Although my qual for GT was more so plagued by a combination of waiting too long to try and sitting in the lobby for a while, waiting, just before my qual run (completely breaking my rhythm)...... This was not the issue in my spec qual. During my spec qual run there was a driver (don't remember his name) in a GT car, who I was told hasn't raced in a very long time, running on the same track as I qualified. He was sent out ahead of me (unlike practice) and consistently drive off track, locked up, spun and continued .... The problem was he ended up with his ghost inside of mine passing me and making mistakes for (I believe) more than 1/2 of the session.
I didn't say anything because the spec race didn't matter much to me and I ended up on pole anyway but I do see where it has the potential to ruin someones qualifying.
I also noticed (more than once), in a different session a car who had overshot turn 1 (I assume to be the case), parked with his front bumper on the inside curb of turn 2 and the rest of his car on the left side grass (you see his passenger door) who seemed to remain there for some time. Just my observations on a few distractions which could compromise another driver's qualifying run.

AAR GTdon has a qual room set up that is not good. I noticed that last night. He has no delay for the cars. Each class leaves the grid at once...

I may have not updated with the new classes but it is clear that in each qualifying class there is a:

PER CAR ROLL OFF DELAY: 5 SECONDS.

My rooms and sainteds rooms follow this standard delay.

Beyond that there is nothing more we can do. It happens in real racing that during qual a car will affect another cars qual time. It's something that is unavoidable. At least its only ghosting for us here. I would LOVE for it not to dirty your lap during full sim qual just because you got the draft but it does. SO we use ghost so we get a clear ability to get a clean lap time.

Hold up there, that's not true, and they were your settings Pred.  There is a 4sec delay which was copied directly from your settings when you gave them to me in the lobby.  I didn't change anything, just saved the settings as you had them in the room.

Don, I think you have each class with a delay but not each car of each class with an additional 5 second roll off delay. Not positive but I am pretty sure that's how it was when I was in the room practicing while others were qualifying. It's not biggie now. We (room host) will just have to be sure to have uniform settings so there is no deviation.

Well, like I said, I got the settings from the room you were hosting and assumed they would be right.  I'll see about changing that.
