Myself and a few other racers of gtc last night were having a conversation on the spped and handling of the lotus in gtc the lotus has been in the podium for 7 of the 9 races this season the car needs to be eliminated from the line up for cars eligible in gtc because its simply to light its the lightest car in the series and isnt in the same caliber as other cars on the list the car should be taken off of next seasons line up "no one car will dominate the series due to the pirs" direct quote from our admin from what i have seen the car has been extremely dominate on most tracks just a suggestion.....

I agree with warpig, we should take out the lotus. and the ferarris and the lambos and the Porsches and the RUFs and the vipers and the devons and the BMWs and the and the mclarens and the fords. They have too much handling and are too over powered!!!! While your at it, let the drivers pick the PI they wanna run also. Maybe also pick up drag tires!

this has been discussed every race (almost) and will most likely ultimately be up to the admin after the season is done. either way, i've been running GTC cars for fun and have been putting times down in other cars that you would never think of that blow them away....well not really, just can beat them...focus on your race and run as quick as you can, might catch them Wink

Handling I get, but speed? Really? That's the last thing a Lotus has. Well, unless you're building it to your PI, I suppose. Maybe we (you) should focus on getting faster and more consistent in your own car instead of switching cars every 5 races, or testing others' with only three races left to find reasons to complain. And regarding the PIRS, sure my car may have started out high due to my terrible first season car choice, but that is not the reason it is winning. At this point, I am faster in just about any other car I have built to their base, if that, PI when compared to my Lotus.

people can say this point is biased or whatever you like, but desertduck is a good driver in a good car and he did have a little too much PI through some parts of the season, but now he has been knocked back PI finally, its going to be a better race and also its true warpig, concentrate on the track infront of you and not every other thing, it aint all going to go your way, nor is it mine and also watch any real racing series and you also see that they dont talk through most the race, just learn to control yourself and not everyone else on the field

I'm not trying to start an argument but I want to make this point. When people complain about the Lotus' speed they dont mean top speed, they mean its acceleration. The Lotus absolutely kills everything else coming out of the corners to the point that on most tracks it beats the car behind it to the next corner every time. I understand why it must get very annoying to have everyone constantly complain about you but its also very frustrating to not even have a chance to try to beat the Lotus when its several thousand feet ahead of you after just a few laps. I'm not speaking personally. I'm man enough to admit I'm not nearly as good a driver as many here.

There is only 1 way to settle this arguement and that is to have a Lotus Exige Cup 240 race build at the same pi that Desert is running at right now.
As most of us are getting tired of this I think Desert and Soul feel they are getting attacked and personality I have nothing against the two of you. The two are you very good and fast drivers but the arguement can be said that the car doesn't really belong in this series. As Raceboy stated their are cars that will probably match the Exige and nobody picked them up.

I say we just give Desert and Soul the respect the deserve and say some of their winning has to do with their skills.

But I still would really like to settle this argument with a Lotus Exige Cup 240 race say the week before the Ring is any of you guys are interested. We can decided on the track

I do agree that both Soul Harvest and dessert ducks driving skills are in large part the reason of such success but I also do think the car does contribute a fair amount as well.

I do think however if I was the Exige I would probably be faster, but I would not be no way near as fast as them two in the exiges because of them being much better drivers than myself.

I also understand how some people would be upset about the Lotus when they are in the running for a podium finish or even a race win (I mean realistically like top 5 or something) but a number of the people complaining would not be in race winning positions regardless of the Exiges running or not.

What does that settle? Would it not be better to have me run your cars and you run an Exige at my PI? Everyone running my car does nothing. At least then we could see the difference. If so, lets do it tonight. Although, if I'm faster, I do reserve the right to complain and say that your car doesn't belong in this series for being too fast.

And thanks, I suppose, for saying we deserve "some" of the credit for our wins. Better than nothing.

see now your just talking like your the fastest guy on the field, you know you was over PI for some time in your car. to that last bit you wrote, you do owe your PI "some" of the credit, you telling me you would of won as many races with the PI you have now?

I know I drive GT but correct me if I'm wrong but isn't fender leading in the points right now. I will say those lotus' are light and fast but there are others cars out there that are capable of beating that car. But this late in the season the eyes should be on the bigger picture which is the championship.

From one lotus driver the other, I'm happy that they are having a successful season.

LOL...Fender is winning but Desert Lagged out of two races and Soul sits 39 points behind Fender but the way the lotus have been finishing 1st and 2nd for the last 2 or 3 races I won't be surprise if Soul is in the number 1 spot by the time the Ring rolls around.

I am sure Red/Fender will be in there...But we will see how this weeks race goes....

Desert i do not see why you took this as a personalattack yes your skill level is much higher then mine but my buisness is my buisness this isnt me trying to control anybody bradsz this is me trying to even out the field if these lotus' were not in this series there would be a larger variety of people on the podium on the podium and basticular had it exactly correct to a certian point the car does not have speed but you have one of if not the fastest 0 to 100 car in the entire line upand out of the corners the lotus is unstoppable and until you hit about 130 the car doesnt stop pulling from the corner till you lose your pull you open such a large gap that any other car doesnt have the time to kkeep up with you

I saw an aston martin blow my doors off in qualifying today by 3 seconds almost. My gt500 was doing pretty good and i ran my quickest times in that session. Now my qualifying time is a different story.

who else is running an aston martin I thought I am the only one running an Aston Martin?

on the points front I do think the Lotus Exiges would have been much higher if they did not have those disastrous race at Le Mans which put them almost last do to crashes etc.

but if it was not for that I do think the Exiges would be leading one way or another.
