PostSubject: Forza 4 August Playseat Car Pack   Wed Aug 01, 2012 11:05 am

Below is a list of the 10 new cars and a new trailer so you can see them in action.

1962 Lincoln Continental
2013 Ford Mustang Boss 302
2003 Aston Martin DB7 Zagato
2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track
1989 Mercedes-Benz #63 Team Sauber-Mercedes C9
1984 Peugeot 205 T16
2013 Scion FR-S
1962 Triumph TR3B
2013 Lexus GS350 F Sport

Release date 7th August

----My opinion----
This looks like its going to be my favourite car pack to date considering it has the new Ford Mustang, Camaro, Scion FR-S, Peugeot 205 and the sauber mercedes.

(I admit I wish the Scion FR-S was instead the Subaru BRZ or the Toyota GT-86 even though they are same car better badge in my opinion)

would be interesting to see what happens in season 8-9 in GTC with these new additions especially if that Scion can take part and would be a real curve ball in the competition.

As usual all the other cars they are adding I am not interested in at all even the Aston Martin which I think is awful to look at (remember seeing one when they 1st came out in this garage and said why would you want that bodywork over stock) why didn't they add the last edition Aston Martin V12 GT/GTA of that generation which was both faster and a much better all round car than that version of the DB7.

This is the first car pack I have seen to date that I plan on getting as soon as it comes out. And they finally added a new 5.0 mustang Smile

As always, IF a racer wants to switch to a new car that comes out in a car pack it can go down in one of two ways.

1. If a racer is currently in the same manufacturer (ie 2010 Ford Mustang to the 2012 Ford Mustang) as the car he/she wants to switch to there is no problem or restriction with this other than the ONE time per season rule that will still be enforced. There will be a PI adjustment for the switch...similar to a real racecar..the new car is often slower at first due to developmental time, hence there will be a base PI mandatory 2 race adjustment. This is available for teams.

2. If a racer want's to switch to a car that is in a new car pack and it is a completely different manufacturer then the car the racer is currently running a car request must be PM'ed to admin for consideration. This is NOT available for teams.

3. There are still no CLASS changes from GTC to GT or Vice versa.

Consider carefully.

OH GOD I can finally drive my car!!

I wish it was the BRZ so it could be exact but I'll settle for the FR-S.
That Boss 302 will be amazing as well.

I know what I'm doing for the rest of the week! Very Happy

what is your BRZ like I am really tempted to have a test drive in one but don't want to fall for it when I cannot change my current car for a good couple of years

I love it! It's very light on it's feet and goes where ever you point it with out issue. It essentially drives like a big go-kart. The majority of the reviews are pretty spot on. Everything on the inside is very well positioned and very driver oriented.

I went from an Infiniti G35 Coupe to the BRZ because I was searching for something lighter and I don't regret it one bit.

I've had it up to my local road course once already for a lapping day as well as an autocross event. It's very easy to drive hard and very forgiving when you do step over the line a bit. Ultimately it's the most fun car to drive I've ever owned.

sadly no you would have to put on the huge rear wing and big front splitter for it to qualify.

(thats saying I find the needs all the help it can get to get that power down, who said its a track version)

Very surprised at how much grip the zl1 has and overall just how well it handles despite being a chubby kid. Imo it's beats the boss 302 by a decent margin

not forgetting the mustang has technology that was considered modern during the wild west

the camaro has some technology that is actually modern.

The mustang live axel rear suspension is what hurts it on forza because its common sense that a independent rear suspension with magnetic suspension will beat a technology that is drastically out dated in the Mustang

actually the 2013 mustangs have independent rear suspensions and have far greater handling in every test i have seen, but its garbage on here. even the solid axle cars since sn195 have had better handling than the camaro even with all their band aid suspension. They also have gone away from pushrod motors which chevy has been using since what like the 40s? Also, let me add that the ZL1 is far more expensive than a boss mustang and was designed to be competition for the 2013mshelby gt500 and is priced accordingly, however it gets dominated in every aspect when the two are matched up. lol!

[quote="nine3cobra"]

I will admit you are right about that (I did not realise they finally modernised the suspension) but its still very dated compared to the camaro's setup on its suspension regardless of no longer having leaf springs and a live rear axel.

don't vettes have leaf springs? i will agree they do have a nice set up in the ZL1, but i can't justify paying $12,000 over the msrp of a boss 302 for a car that pulls .01 more lateral g's on the skidpad. (1.03 vs 1.02)

All mustangs still have live rear axles. The mustang can run one hot lap that is slightly faster than the ZL1 before it becomes heat soaked as the GT500 isn't track ready like the Zl1 is. The ZL1, which is both heavier and way down on hp) runs better times after lap 2 and the Magnetic Ride is much more liveable on the streets. This is why it has been chosen over the GT500 in every comparison made.

ZL1 is down on hp and heavier running away from a car after lap 2? lol!

The laguna seca is in competition with the new 1LE. (with early testing at VIR the 1LE ran a time 4 seconds faster than the Laguna Seca) Still waiting for an actual comparison between the two.

Before I say anything this is totally just opinion so you may not agree. The boss just seems like a straight up track car. The ZL1 is a jack of all trades. Yet does ALL of them, exceptionally well. Regardless both are incredible american machines, but the ZL1 is more sophisticated, and refined. A very slight step away from being a genuine american masterpiece.  Now that being said, I've been constantly running better laptimes with the zl1 and I've found the zl1 much easier to control. Also, with the right tune and right driver both of these cars can become top contenders in the gtc class.

the mustang might be american, but the camaro's suspension was developed by australian's (Holden)and the car is assembled in canada.
