Offically GRID 2 trailer by Codemasters (same company behind Formula one and DIRT)

me personally I cannot wait loved the 1st GRID game I hope they do not Ken Block it like they did with DIRT/Colin McRae Rally.

hopefully they keep it to how it was in GRID by making it possible to create your own racing team, by the vehicles, drivers etc.

horizon is made by a different company called playground games (UK based) which is a brand new company made to create Forza Horizon with people who have experience in racing games including GRID.

GRID is made by Codemaster's which is also UK based which creates just racing games nowadays and have huge amount of experience with such games in many ways they have more experience than Turn 10 and Polyphonic studios combined because of created much more racing games than they have in the same period of time.

(Codemasters also created TOCA racing which became GRID)

if anyone is interested here is a preview of GRID 2 I found and is quite interesting to read at parts

http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/gamesblog/2012/aug/08/grid-2-hands-on-preview?newsfeed=true

if nobody can be asked to read through it here is a summary

they waited for so long to create a sequel because they were not satisfied with the technology they had to create it

4 tiers of cars that go as follows

tier 1 - Ford Mustang Mach I, E30-shape BMW M3 Sport Evo etc

tier 2 - Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 and the [modern] Chevrolet Camaro SS (introduces launch control and traction control as well)

tier 3 - McLaren MP4-12c, BAC Mono

Tier 4 - Pagani Huyara, Koenigsegg etc

a non linear single player series (same objectives just different ways to get their

no made up tracks all genuine cities, tracks and roads

types of tracks

City racing (Paris, Chicago)

high speed racing on roads (e.g. highways)

track racing (e.g. abu Dhabi)

Online

Your single player vehicles etc do not transfer to multiplayer

has their version of NFS autolog and Forza's leader board system with something called RaceNet

have not said much else yet except you will be able to do what you want (guessing serious racing go here, messing around go here etc)

A.I.

they are apparently more realistic than in other racing games (guessing their AIs were borrowed from F1 2011/2012. They make mistakes and do behave differently and will react to how you are driving (i.e. if you drive aggressively towards them they will be aggressive back, if your pleasant they will be pleasant back to you)

Holy shit yes! I remember playing the first grid, even now I still consider it one of the best racing games of all time. It would be nice if forza could implement the same damage system as grid.

^Same damage system and also same single player layout. The first grid was decent but it didn't work well with the wheel. Hopefully this is fixed with number two. Also Toca3 was the best game ever made. It had any kind of racing you wanted to do. I really hope that they bring that kind of diversity back. All together I think this game will be good. With the numerous different kinds of series in the game and being able build/design your own race cars and teams and choose teammates to drive with, this game has high expectations from this racing lover. I just hope they pull it off with much better driving physics than before. Fingers crossed.

i loved Grid as it took realistic in a whole other way, it gave you more thrills and that rush feeling you get from real driving (obviously not as great as real driving) and gave us amazing damage systems aswell and it done all this without giving it that kind of arcade feeling, ive been wishing for a GRID 2 a long while now

It was impressive but with a wheel forza wins the realistic feeling battle. I'm just hoping they improve gameplay with the wheel. From the trailer though its not looking good. The driving there looked very arcade. I will have to see more before going after this game, only because of the way the trailer made the driving look
