| So i race a lot on Fujimi Kaido with some guys. They are fast, there is no doubt about it, but many of them claim that the stock or sport suspensions and roll bars are better than a tuned race set up. I just dont see how this is possible. Can anyone explain this or has anyone tested it? | |

| It's not. They must not know how to tune so for them stock = better. | |

| There are many who only race stock setups, because, that's how they learned to race. For them it is ideal, and feels the most natural because that's what they have always done. Many of the fastest drivers were raised on stock setups so don't get into a stock car race with them, or you will get burned. lol | |

| it can make a small difference but if it's what you're used to, you'll be faster with sport/stock until you figure out a good setup for the race suspension. <- imo | |

| My FWD Alfa for ST seems a little faster with stock front roll bars (none), but cars should be generally faster when fully tuned. | |

| As a tuner I see this and know exactly what and why this seems so. Sometimes It can be true depending on class and car.
I'll talk to you more about it on xbl.

| it does depend on class and what you are doing. lower class leaderboard cars dont have race suspension and many dont run race tires. the c class spark that i have a leaderboard tune for from my old british friends i used to race with only has sport suspension and handling parts but is very fast and stable. then again its only a c class so it doesnt need very much high speed grip. plus those suspensions are often softer than most race setups so at lower speeds they may feel like they have more grip. but it all goes back to what class and car it is on, in my opinion. i prefer race parts just for the tuning of it but then again if you cant tune and completely screw up the race suspension then it would feel terrible i am sure.
just drive one of hireds tunes, you will see how bad someone can mess up a race tuned suspension. the guy is terrible! i am kidding of course, hired is a great tuner although his steering is so sensitive in his tunes i do not prefer them. they are very fast but on the wheel i feel like they are to quick to turn in. then again i seem to prefer cars that handle like pigs so it could just be that.
