So, what IS Gumballhead, you ask? Well, for starters, it's a cat in a series of comics and drawings by artist Rob Syers (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Gumballhead/253056404362), which is truthfully only mildly relevant. It's also a killer Wheat Ale by 3 Floyds Brewery (3floyds.com), with a nice citrusy balance (which is not necessarily more relevant, but it's extremely tasty Cool

). More importantly though, it's a cross-country rally taking place next Sunday (11/3) at 8:30pm EDT.

I can imagine there are some questions, such as:

What cars can race? Any car, as long as it was made before 1990. Note, while this is a series of races, it's not to be taken seriously, so let's get some non-typical cars going here.

What class or PI? Any class you like, but the max PI will be 600.

Any equipment requirements? Such as race cage or tires? Heck no. Bring what you like and drive it like you stole it.

What are the rules? Rules??? In a knife fight??? Let's put it this way: this is not meant to be a demolition derby, so don't go taking anyone out. But otherwise, just get yourself around the track.

What tracks? You'll have to wait and see, but there will be 4-5 10 lap races on North American circuits running East to West. [The selected tracks will be shorter than our typical FSCS courses]. The whole thing should be done in 90 mins or less, I figure.

Any livery requirements? No. In fact, the less the better. In the spirit of the legendary Gumball Rally, a full race livery would likely be a disadvantage. You'd attract the wrong sort of attention. If you want to do something fun or creative, have at it. There will be a discrete Rally number board available on my storefront prior to the race, which will be required to be applied.

Why would I want to do this? Well, the FSCS will be having a bye week, and it will hopefully be something fun for the off-week. I am contacting the Brewery to see about getting some Gumballhead swag for prizes, but otherwise there will be some cars and or credits for the top finishers - if the entertainment value isn't enough by itself. There may also be some prizes for most creative livery or interesting choice of car, so have fun with this.

Who can race? Anyone currently entered in the FSCS, though I am limiting the field to 16 drivers, including myself, so please sign up below if you are interested. No need to list your car, or number [you'll be assigned one at random - number that is, not car], just your intent to partake. I hope we'll have a full field.

Your number will be assigned, not your car - that would just be too cruel, to not know the tracks or your car.... Twisted Evil

They may not even be typical numbers, they may be codes or something random. For example, say Pred signs up. He might receive DERP as his entry "number", because it's Pred backwards, and it's funny.

Is this Sunday at 8:30EST???
If so, im in!!!!!! Already have a handful of cars in mind. Sim damage n no line tho?? I think cosmetic with the line would be most fun :-) its much more fun tooling around when you know where your going lol

Yes, the current projected start time is 8:30pm EDT this Sunday. Still thinking through how this'll all work, but so far I'm thinking Limited Damage [so, there's still some care to be taken, but don't want anyone getting punished] and No Assists or Lines as per FSCS. [Ain't no lines in real life, son.... Rolling Eyes

As far as non-FSCS entrants goes - if we get late into the week and still have numerous spots open, I will probably open it up to referrals, yes. But for now, want to give FSCS participants preference; I'm sure you can understand.

Otherwise, consider yourself entered.

Eehhh well that really spoils it for me. The line off makes you focus more on hitting your braking points than having fun and racing. Also I'm not going to try and find braking points for 5 different tracks in 1 week........ That just makes it way more work than fun...... pale

The whole point is to just have fun - not worrying about tuning to the nth degree or excessive practicing.... Smile

My point exactly. Were on the same page here.
You turn the line on, I will show up n a whacked out car that I enjoy with zero practice laps and absolutely no tuning. Forcing the line off will force me to practice way more to learn the braking points just to not spend the whole night frustrated in the grass. I like the idea of this and I don't get to "play" very often but the week/night will become more about prep and trying not to crash rather than having fun and just driving.

Yes, but it's going to be something small and in-keeping with the event [not your typical number board] and probably not more than 30 layers or so.
