| It may be called Saturday Night Short Track but that doesn't mean it is run on Saturday night. Right now this is just an idea I'm throwing out there. If you want to get with me on this to test cars and tracks please feel free. I'm in no rush to get this going but it could be fun with a good number of people.
So far I have six cars and I am still working on more. I'm testing them on the mini circuits and shorter tracks, most of which are close to oval in layout, to keep it short track style. The cars are old and metal and ready to do some bruising. While intentional wrecks and dirty driving is discouraged, leaning on each other and bumping is encouraged. That's what short tracks are about after all. The series will be run as a spec series to keep cars equal but tuning is all up to the driver, short of gearing, to keep all cars close on top end. I would like people to help with testing the cars. Please pm or message on xbl.

| I thought about doing it for some of the tracks. Ran some last night and they're pretty fun with less grip. | |

| I would like to have a "dirt track" simulated race on some of the ovals. in like the buick and camaro or something like that. put a front and rear grip handicap on them. i have heard of a series like this and i think it would fun. | |

| That's kind of the idea I had for this. All the short tracks that are oval or close to oval in layout. Some will have the grip handicap to simulate dirt and others will be paved. What I have so far is quite different than anything I've seen so far. I have several cars built if you guys want to get together next week for some laps. | |

| Just to keep those following this up to speed on what's going on, I have built several cars. With help from oddball we have managed to gather a good number of old muscle cars with some great sounding V8. The idea is picking cars you will find running your local short tracks. Not the 100000dollar plus cars but the 10000 dollar and less cars. Right now I have one from each manufacturer to give people the option to run their favorite makes. The races will be split between asphalt and "dirt" tracks. I've tested on both and there will be two different setups for each car on my sf. Tunes will be locked to ensure everyone is in an equal car. They accelerate as close as possible and top out exactly the same. This leaves it up to skill of the driver not ability of the car. The setups are as close to equal as possible as well. All cars drive very similar. More info to come later this week.
Testing will be going on if you would like to join us. Just ask.

| Honestly I'd like to just see 1 track we run every week and do a points system, race at the same track 4 times switch over to another track the next month etc etc | |

| A monthly championship would work. Running the same track then starting the points over for the new track the next month. I believe that's what you guys are saying. As far as car selection I am working that out now. I am trying to get one from every American manufacturer to fit in the power and weight and pi range that I am going for. A list will be up of the cars and also I will have the specs and stats for each car posted since builds are locked. That way you know exactly what you get when you purchase it.
I will say now that there will be a price on the cars because at the end of each month a prize will be given out to the top participants. It won't be large (1,000,000) or anything but maybe more like 100,000 to 500,000 depending on the number of entrants. Thoughts on the buy in?
Edit: Buy in will be cheap since cars are inexpensive.

| I have split the cars into two categories. The first category is hobby stock run on dirt and clay tracks. The car that will be run in this category is the Buick Regal. The second class will be street stock. There are five cars to choose from in this class. All American fastback muscle cars, run on asphalt short tracks. That should give good diversity to each months championship. Rather than the same thing repeating every month. Cars will be put on storefront once tuning is complete. | |

| So I have a preliminary build and tune for each class and car. From the testing every car is competitive and each one has its own "strong" point. Overall though the cars are virtually identical across the board. I can have them on the storefront whenever you guys are ready to run some practice races. Practice races will allow you to test each car and see which feels the best to you. After cars are selected the first months championship can be announced. I look forward to seeing how many we have interested in this.
For now just post that you will be interested and if response is large enough. Cars will be up this week for a practice run with everyone.

| The dodge is undecided right now. If allowed it would be in street stock and would be the 69 charger. The only problem is that all the other street stocks are 70+models. I was trying to keep it that way. Since it is competitive with the others and there is interest I will allow it for the practice race and you can see if you want to run it. How does that sound? | |

| So right now we have 4 that are in and a possible 2 more. That's enough to get us started but we'll need more for a full season. Six racers is kinda thin. Anybody else getting in on this? | |

| Looks like numbers are limited but if you guys still want to give this a go, I can set something up for next week. I know we are all busy this weekend preparing for road america. So how does Tuesday sound? Nothing in stone but if everyone is on around 7 or 8 we can have a practice race and see if you guys want to have a go at a full season. Maybe pick up a few more along the way. | |
