Road Atlanta is a 2.54-mile (4.088 km) road course located just north of Braselton, Georgia, USA that was completed in late 1969. The first race was held on September 13, 1970. Vic Elford, in a Chaparral 2J, won pole and Tony Dean, in a Porsche 908/02, won the 300 km Can-Am event, with Stirling Moss as the Grand Marshal. The track has 12 turns, including the famous "esses" between turns three and five;and Turn 12, a downhill, diving turn. The track is owned by NASCAR and it's subsidiary Panoz Motorsports, and is the home to the Petit Le Mans, and also one of the tracks The Forza Sports Car Series races as well as AMA motorcycle racing, and smaller events throughout the year. Some may remember Road Atlanta as the scene of two of the most spectacular crashes in history, when a Porsche 911 GT1 did a complete backflip in 1998, followed in 2000 by a BMW V12 LMR—less a fault of the track and more an issue with insufficient aerodynamic development on the cars. The track's elevation changes and a wide variety of corner types make it the perfect venue to test the extreme performance of the latest FSCS cars and racers with speeds approaching 185mph in GT cars and corners that test nerve and tune. This track always produces some of the closest and most intense racing of The Forza Sports Car Series.

@Matt, that would be cool. i remember watching old races at RA with the Panoz running pretty good. Wasnt it one of the first cars to have the active awd? im pretty sure t had what audi has now, back in like early 2000s

Im not too sure about the 4wd part. Their open cockpit P1 car was the first Front Engine rear drive modern prototype. The P1 Esparente (the bigger more powerful version of my car) had an illegal ABS system back in its day. A friend of mine use to work for that Panoz team

I may be racing GS....not sure

side by side almost worked off the final corner :p he got loose and the first tap was ok, but when preds car snapped back straight it caught me in the left front and sent me to the inside wall, hit the wall smoking full throttle and kept goin'. Totally my fault. Reeled in roscoe but couldn't pass him, was a good race though! (car was fudged up from the wall)

I want to apologize with Ched. Totally my fault!

decent race and probably the hardest track to drive so far for me.
Very difficult to get the first two sectors right, guess that is what rewind is for on leaderboards

Lol. It's been so long since I attacked the leaderboards I forgot all about the rewind feature in this game. I agree with the track being tough though. It really keeps you busy from the last corner up through the esses.

Well that sucked. Got a double wheel pause and a smashed car requiring 3 pits. Road Atlanta, why are you so mean to me?

My race exceeded expectations.  Set my personal best R8 laptime on lap 46 or so.  I could have passed Pred lap one or two at the end of the back straight, but pre race testing showed him quicker than I.  Isn't there some saying along the lines of "racing the competitors you are supposed to"?  That included Hiredgun, who I expected to be a hard charger and move by me enroute to the front. He was turning laps that I couldn't match, but my pit crew tossed a banana peel in front of him at the top of the esses, allowing me to pass back. The cushion was small,  he'd probably have got me back by lap 52.  An unexpected podium.
I'm also glad NOT to take out Luongo, enroute to his GTR win.  As Hired cleared me after his pass about lap 40, I pulled in behind him, mistaking the Porsche in the mirror for Tachyon, whom we had just passed.

Sorry Manuel my fault don't know really if I broke late or what. I thought i hit my mark. I seen i wasn't going to get slowed up but couldnt decide to go right or left to miss you I didn't do either. Sorry I ruined your race.
