Pirelli World Challenge heads to the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, May 17-19, for a doubleheader event for GT and GTS and a triple header for Touring Car and B-Spec
A series record 92-car field will race at The Circuit of The Americas (COTA), as part of the V8 Supercars Austin 400 event weekend. GT and GTS classes will compete in Rounds 4 and 5, while Touring Car and Touring Car B-Spec classes open their 2013 season with a three race weekend, rounds 1-3.
Overall, 19 GT and 34 GTS cars are slated to race at COTA, while 19 TC and 20 TCB cars are entered. The 92-car field features platforms from over 20 different manufacturers. Heading into the May 17-19 race weekend, James Sofronas, in the No. 14 Global Motorsports Group Audi R8 LMS sits atop the GT Drivers’ Championship standings having won races at St. Petersburg and Long Beach. Jack Baldwin, in the No. 73 GTSport Racing with Goldcrest Porsche Cayman S leads in the GTS Drivers’ Championship.

| The COTA race starts in 20 minutes. (Thank the folks at Apple for the iPad. I can watch!)
The 24 Hours of Nurburgring is also going on right now i think. I am searching the internet now to see if I can find a live feed of that race! Aston Martin was leading last I report I heard. | |
