I guess so then. Catching someone in points that finished 3 spots ahead of you is now the equivalent of catching someone in points that finished 8+ spots. One finish outside the top 5 and you have no way of coming back to win the champ.

Pred, Sainted's correct.  Here's a table for comparison [you know how I like Excel...]:

The variance between places is greater with the new scoring model [Var (p-p)] and the difference between 1st and 10th is dramatically different now [Var (p-1st)].  Agreed, the new system places greater value on Pole and H.C. points, but otherwise, this places greater emphasis on podium finishes than before.  Even if you finish 4th, you are way further back from the winner than you were in the old model.  If that's the intent, so be it, but wanted to make sure the effects of the change were evident.

Wow. It give Podium finishes a chance to run away with the championship early.

On another not, I still do not understand why it says I lagged out on lap 20 sumn. I lagged out on lap 44. I would rather be treated as fairly as one would treat one's self.

Normally they only accept an end race picture from the game, but I guess in the case of a an established league like FSCS with a special multi-lobby combined format they will accept our leader board results page. You get 7 days from the date of the race to email them results or they won't accept them btw.

This service is offered to anyone who competes in league racing anywhere in the Forza world.  If you happen to race elsewhere, and want the race you raced in rated, just send them a picture of the results. FLR usually posts ratings adjustment within 24hrs of submission they say.

I tried a few different scenarios and can see what you are talking mathematically. So, I made some small adjustments and ran a few different scenarios and this generates a closer points battle. With the addition of Pole, fastest lap and HC bonus points it also has the potential to either increase the closeness or also create a quicker spread. But that is the same always if the pole position wins the race and also gets the fastest lap. However, if a racer does not do that often the ability to recover is better. However, if a racer dominates...then no matter what he dominates in points no matter what..that's why its called dominating.

So lets not let anyone run away with it. There are many racers in each class that are capable of winning races.

Here is the adjusted points schedule that will go into effect for Suzuka.

1st= 50 pts / 2nd= 47 / 3rd= 45 / 4th= 43 / 5th= 42 / 6th= 40 / 7th= 39 / 8th= 38 / 9th= 37 / 10th= 36 / 11th= 35 / 12th= 34 / 13th= 33 / 14th= 32 /
15th down 1 point

* 2pt bonus for Pole Qualifier
* 1pt Bonus for Fastest lap set during the race
* 1pt Bonus for Hard Charger Award (Racer who gains the most positions during the race)
75% completed DNF gets you 75% of the points you would have earned at the position you finish. 50% is the same. Anything less and you get 8pts for show - must complete 10 lap min to get show points.

The fastest lap is based off of the pictures where it shows the fastest lap.  In Spec or ST (can't remember which) I had to go by the replay at which point I viewed each racer and took the fastest lap from that.  

A picture of the final race result is best because it will show the fastest lap of the complete race where as the replay I can only get the fastest lap of the first 8 - 15 laps.

So it is important for room host to get CLEAR pictures of the final race results. If you as a host are not sure you will have time...Just mention to the room prior to the race and also as the race gets close to finish mention it until someone volunteers to help.

@ RoscoeP - Show me proof that contradicts what I recorded via PM of the full room. I remember doing ST now that I look back and retroD had the fastest lap that I viewed via replay. I got the GS time from the provided picture.

If that is provided and conclusive I will adjust points no problem at all.

Tachyon, I am no math wiz, nor am I super effective with Excel to create those spreadsheets you do so effectively. I relied on a friend of mine who has a Double masters degree in mathematics and she is an Excel beyond pro pro. She did the PI algorithm that is used for the balance of performance. She is in Europe and out of my reach for a few months.

Maybe the extra coat of paint made the difference. Yes it was really close you had a car length at pit the start of pit road. I didn't think I would get back to you. Coming off the last corner I got wheel spin and almost got the wall  so I slammed it into 4th and held it to the floor. Awesome finish.
