As I explained before, there are MANY variables that come into play when it comes to PI. IT IS NOT based SOLELY on driver skill. You would be completely misguided if that is what you think. There are many factors that can determine on track lap times many can be tested an proven others may just be small variables not really testable.
1. Automatic Transmission - slowest
2. Manual With Clutch - fastest
3. Manual Without Clutch - mid level
4. Driving with a controller - fastest
5. Driving with a wheel - slower (more realistic and can be smoother but corrections are much slower)
6. Steering Settings Simulation - Better for controller - nearly impossible on a wheel
7. Steering Setting Normal - not good on a controller - but much better on a wheel
8. The car itself each car at the same exact PI are not the same speed or able to produce the same lap times (add the fact each track demands something different and each car's pros and con's)
9. Driving In car view
10 Driving Bumper view
11. Driving Track only view
12. Having a controller that is not linear but on/off
13. Digital controller that you can ease on the gas or brake not just on/off
14. Some people play on small TV
15. Some people play on Big TV
16. Some use ABS
17. Some don't use ABS
18. A car can be better on a specific type of track
19. A car may be deficient at a specific type of track
20. One driver may be faster but less consistent
21. One driver may not be quite as fast but more consistet
22. Another driver may be fast and super consistent
23. Just to name a few that I can think of. These are just some of the things that are not just +/- and simply quantified but have to be considered for every driver in this series.

In the end the replays can be seen, the avg lap times can be calculated, it can be seen that a racer maybe was faster but made a mistake and couldn't catch back up, or hit a wall and got damage and ran slower. Straight line speeds can be seen and recorded and compared car vs car. Cornering speed can be seen and compared car vs car. Lap times can be seen and averaged. THEN ON TOP OF ALL THE THINGS mentioned above driver skill is then an additional factor that also must be accounted for.

Picking me out means 0. I have had the car at +/- 1 PI for 6 seasons and you can see where I sit and have ended each race. I am not the fastest here and I don't claim to be. I am leading the points because I have been able to be consistent have no accidents, no contact and not 1 off track incident. Is there some kind of unwritten rule that I am not allowed to win a race or maybe even win a Championship? I race to win just like every other racer here. I have not won a race in ummm I can't remember when. I am not mad about it. It motivates me to keep going after it. You highlighting my PI to make a point means that you don't get the point.

No I should not let it bother me that you try to point out oh look here is your PI and your points leader. But, it did for a second. In the end though, I have nothing to apologize for feel like I am very fair across the board to every single racer in this series. I treat everyone with the same respect and the same fair hand.

I work my ass off to ensure that this series creates and promotes close racing among many different cars and skill levels and game settings. And to be honest this season seems to be one of the best example of that. 6 races in and the points, qualifying times and race finishes all have been some of the closest we have seen not for a race but each and every race has been closely competitive across the board. For that I am proud and if you disagree...well (shoulder shrug).

You Mr. Pronebird need to eliminate the mistakes you have made nearly every race. Your pace is there to have been top 3 or top 5 every race this season, maybe even a win. Your own undoing has caused you to not be there. There is a certain champion that raced at a lower PI since maybe season 1 or two then everyone and somehow managed to win a multitude of races. PI is a number that is more complex to calculate then you may truly understand. But in the end it should not be subjective of the driver whether the PI is 735 of 775.

You can responds to this if you like. But I have nothing further to comment about.

Pred, I can probably speak for prone here. thats his signature, pointing out a personal achievement of some sort, if you will, of being the lowest PI in the top ten. I would do it if i could but forza and I don't have the best of relationships. It's basically saying, Hah I'm Faster suck it.

Besides I was in a party with him when he changed it.

Playing on a controller is not the fastest. I know that many of the super fast guys on this game use a wheel. Some use a controller and can be equally as fast.

Season 5 I raced on a 12" tv and Gdub played on a 100" projector so you can't say that tv size makes THAT much of a difference

i think it was a kind of "haha check it out way below average and im right up there" i dont think it was a personal knock at Pred, but thats just my interpretation. but either way i hope everyone has a great race today, good luck to all

I ran with a 12" for season 3 and 3/4 of season 4. It SUCKED. Now I race with a 27", sitting on my desk about 2 1/2 feet from my face. It does make seeing smaller braking points much easier. It didn't make me faster per say, but it did make me much more consistent, which in turn made me a faster driver over the long run.

It doesn't say how many laps. I failed to make it clear that Qual was supposed to be 5 laps. I did not remember that last season was a 4 lap qualifier.

As for PI.........

In that case, I ran a 3:59.549 (Exactly 1 sec faster then my lap 2 cert qual time) on lap 4 that I didn't send in. Matt and a few others can back me up.
