That isn't correct. The car handles exactly the same in test drive as it will during any online race when simulation damage is on for both. The tires in this game go through cycles when you are racing and you just need to adjust your tune so that it is better once the tires come in versus when they are cold.
I disagree.
There was a difference between testing and online racing in FM3 and there still is in FM4, and I'm not the only one that has noticed it. A car tuned to run right on the edge offline will be nearly impossible to control racing online.
I am with you,my car does some strange $#!t during parts of the race/qualifying, thought it was me/my wheel.

Just as in real racing, as fuel burns off and your tires wear, you will see the handling characteristics of your car change. This explains to some of the guys why your car gets better after a pit stop. Your car will loosen up as a race progresses, so to find a good "race" setup, start out a little tighter than you like it.

It will only feel differently if damage is turned off while in test drive. No there wasn't any difference. The only difference that could be there is the draft, which will greatly affect how your car is handling. I'm telling you as one of the faster driver/tuners in this league.

Thats how my car is. I set all the specs so the car would act the same but it does not. I was running consistant 2:08 and low 2:09's. But when racing came my car was very loose all the time. My other problem is the Pagani holds a ton of fuel. I could have completed that race without pitting. Is it possible to start with less fuel or not take on fuel while pitting? I think finding more of you and practiceing online would be good to. I just don't get while it drives so different. I have some ideas on how to correct it but....

Before going into test drive mode go into your difficulty settings for single player and double check that simulation damage is turned on.
Everyone could have made that race without pitting, which is why we unfortunately had to force pit stops.

Damage has been set to Simulation since the first time the game was loaded. Same with FM3.
I know aero can have an effect. I also know that turn 1, lap 1 in test drive feels different than turn 1, lap 1 in an online race (even if I am the only car on the track). It is what it is.

So here is my two cents:
1. Sounds like the people using the wheel need to find a happy compromise between the two modes
2. Since I'm using the controller, I don't notice difference between test drive and online modes.
So lets please move on.
Also I'd like to apologize to Gdub again for last night, highly uncharacteristic of me to do what I have done, I know your okay with it, just need to throw it out there.
As for the Kinect situation last night, it's easier to mute the mic, not unplug it. I had to take the headset off and mute the mic for about half the race till I caught up to Dan and gave him the wake up call (hint, hint, wink, wink) and had a 3 way battle with No Brakes for about 15 laps.
Overall I really thought I had this large neon sign that said to **** my day up that evening, even in the practice races was a bit uncalled for. So here is a tip, don't just look at the bumper of the car in front of you or dig your nose in the tach for your gear changes, but survey the situation ahead of you by at least 700 feet. So you can avoid that massive dog pile in the next turn.
Overall, last night wasn't really fun due to many circumstances, but going from 4th to 15th and finishing 8th with a car torn apart by a can opener, I can't really complain now can I?
*EDIT* almost forgot of what Bast pulled off at lap 9 last night, needed new pants, but it made my night that little bit better

I'd just like to say that the race in B lobby might have been the best race I have ever been a part of. And seeing how i've been racing online since Forza 1 I'd say thats pretty impressive. Matt, Double Razor, PickNick, and myself had a great battle from around lap 3/4 till the end. Unfortunately PickNick lagged out but Razor and I chased down Matt for 40 laps id say gaining only a tenth or two each lap. I finally got around Matt for the lead in the last turn around lap 42 and in the same turn Razor overtook me. Brilliant race that even though I didnt win was just amazing. Great race guys, I cant wait for next Sunday!

Ya..unfortunate the Evora had damage or it would have been a better race...I couldn't even break 2.07.
Please everyone practise for the next race as there will be a lot of collision if you don't this race is not forgive at all

I might as well explain what happened I'm sure Fender will post a video
I was behind Chenstrap and what I started to do was pass him on the right after the "Big Bend" (turn 6). I soon realized I wouldnt have the room to do so. Unfortunately drafting him gave me such an insane speed I didnt have time to safely slow down AND there was like 5 cars immediately in front of him going into the hairpin. I made a split second decision to aim for a small gap between Fender and Spurtle and miraculously missed everyone.

Not really sure what happened last night. I was online with plenty of time, but never got invited to a room. When I checked on here I saw that I wasn't even listed to be in a room because I never qualified, which I did the week before. Hope I don't get left out again next week

DANG! 34 positions! That's epic. If I ever see you on my rearview mirror I'm just going to pull over.

Got hit on lap 1 and went from 6th to 16th. Had enough damage that i was slowed down about a second per lap when i started to get my rhythm back (which took a bit because i was flustered). Ended up getting back to 12th. Was a decent race but could have gone much much better.
Also thought i was gonna get hit by prone when i went to let him by. I slowed on the front straight and pulled to the right to let him past, and he kept following me for a draft out of habit.
