For the second race of the Forza Sports Car Series we travel to the Bernese Alps high up in the Swiss mountains with it's tight turns, wide open throttle downhill section, breathtaking scenery of mountain passes, the Bernese Alps distills the ultimate high-altitude driving experience into a state-of-the-art road course that is equal of the world's greatest circuits . It is this high-altitude and cold climate along with its fast speeds and close walls that street circuits have that will challenge the racers of the Forza Sports Car series. The primary characteristic of Bernese Alps is the overwhelming sensation of speed. The tarmac is wide and forgiving, allowing you to stay on the track while maintaining a fast clip; throughout much of the course, you'll be at full throttle. Despite all the room between the rumble strips, you'll have to exercise exceptional control to hit the apexes perfectly. Taken as a whole, the Alps course provides the awesome rush of velocity for any racer, but exceptional challenges for those working on honing their racing skills.

HAVE YOUR QUAL TIME DONE BY 1pm PST SUNDAY. Thats 4 days to get it done!
The last qual session will run at 1:00pm Sunday. Anyone who does not qualify will be subject to Rule 4.1E

should be an interesting and challenging race, never done a race around here for more than 3 laps so this will be a new experience on a track like this but should hopefully be fun and fingers crossed competitive as well.

Yeah, this track is really fun to race on. I didn't say easy. But it is fun. There are simply a few places where an error is potentially race ending. It also doesn't make matters better that those same treacherous areas are some of the fastest areas on track. Question is how much are you willing to risk for that extra tenth or two?

don't forget this track is like torture for your front tyres so it will be a major test of your cars setup (or lack of)

Drivers will need to be extremely aware of the other class cars around them. The closing rate here is going to be extreme. Don't need any accidents with people not paying attention.

This track is FUN. Its a very great place to race. There was a point last season where it was me and another gt driver almost pushing two gtc drivers into the tunnel. This track can be fun and scary all at the same time. You can see what I mean in the video from last season, its worth a watch.

The average Sebring time was much faster than what was given as an average from last season. Im curious as to how much faster the pace will be on the alps.

I was in the Rossion Q1 last season and I won by about idk 1-2Mi. It was the best race I could get out of that car which in the end was crap very unstable and hard to tune.

from what i saw in GTC at least that average lap times were in deed faster but slower fastest lap times in qualifying at least.

I will not be surprised if this pace continues

average quali time was a 2:16 then this was 2:13. the fastest lap times in qualifying were faster. My idea is that the Bernese would be at least 2 seconds faster as well.

I am agreeing with you I am just saying that fastest lap time for the entire session did drop slightly as well for Sebring at least.

Hey I'm not going to qualify this week cause I'm not sure if ill be able to race Sunday but if I'm back in town I'd love to race. I'm not going to puss out like most rooks and only do the first 2-3 races and quit I'm trying to do the whole season.

If you can, put a time in just in case. just so you dont have a penalty if you do race on sunday. just a suggestion

*oh* derp derp. i read that "drop" as in not as fast. when you meant the time dropped. for some reason when it comes to lap times i read and refer to them backwards. thats just me being dyslexic

So if the race is anything like practice this will be a race of attrition. I happen to know how to stay clean and run safe so maybe ill take the cake in my lobby

I know how to roll a vette 6 times and then take out six other drivers while getting hit and rolling some more. So if I go down, we're all going down.

If it was ANY other spot i could have seen and avoided it but no lol you had to chose to roll and stop right so that i cant see you until after that hill.

Just glad it was during practice. That was the best wreck of the series so far. It will be tough to beat. If anyone has that replay from last night please send it my way. I would love to watch my death on video.

For anyone who wasn't there last night here is what happened:
I (Dr piihb) was going into turn two when I heard my dog begin to get into the trash can. Hearing this I turned to call my dogs name (forza), yes that is really her name. Upon doing so, I tried to take turn three at 130mph. I had almost completed the corner by the time I looked back at the road, surprisingly I was right where I wanted to be. The tail end kicked out just a bit so I counter steered and that's when it happened. The car grabbed the road pointing me head on at the wall. When the car hit the wall running about 125 it left the racing surface and began to kartwheel down the hill. I rolled about three times end over end and then one barrel roll, coming to rest on my wheels facing the oncoming traffic lead by Sainted. He had no where to go and plowed head on into my Corvette. He flipped over me and I turned sideways in the road. Another car was close on his heels and they got me in the passenger door. This rolled my car on the lid as a giant Cadillac came barring down on me. The Caddy had to be running at least 150because I sailed across the track into the opposite wall. About 30seconds after it began it was over. Two cars, one Porsche and one Vette, sat belly up, smoking and trashed. One other car was so badly damaged it couldn't even pull itself down the hill. Sainted, driving the Porsche, came out with a couple broken ribs and a concussion while Dr pihhb in the Corvette was tragically killed after suffering massive injuries from the collision with the wall then head with the Porsche the nearly split in two from the Cadillac. It was grisly and violent but a blast to see unfold.

If anyone has the video you should upload it to the site. I really do not think this wreck can be beat. Anyone in it I'm sure will agree.
