Season 6 Race 5 Mugello 40 Laps Dec. 4th 5PM PST

I said last week that we should try it for the simple fact that more players = more data = more chance to inundate slower connections.

Microsoft even recommends it as a way to reduce lag on xbox live. Seems foolish to aggravate people week in and week out without at least trying it.

taking away 2 cars isn't going to make the difference that's needed when there is a problem...

Suggestion - We had enough qualifiers for 4 rooms af 12 last weekend. Is 12 a number that sounds right? That puts the room at 75% normal and still allows for some close racing. During qualifying, the groups of times are real close in bunches of 10-14 as well, most of the time.

I dont care either way - but I just making suggestions.

About the lag; In my opinion only, I think the few people that lag week in and week out need to man up and get their internet upgraded, or stop racing and ruining other peoples races.

There's a chance that running 12 man rooms would reduce the bandwidth usage enough that these less than optimal connections would be able to keep up.

Don't forget that you also start running the high poly count cars with 12 people or less, don't know if it will affect the bandwidth, but it is also more computing power

I know this is early - But what are the good times expected for this Infineon course? I ran about 15 laps last night to get the braking line down and then ran 5 w/o the line. I was a little faster without the line. Just trying to get a baseline time to shoot for to get into a higher room.

Hang on lil buddy. We gotta get done with Mugello before we move on to Infineon. When the thread starts for Infineon I will put an example time.

This. Cosmetic damage shuts off with 12+ people. You are likely loading the same amount of information with Forza with 12 as you do 16.

M Rossi and OutrunNascar were pretty much unpassable due to their lag. If it doesn't fix itself they need to either drop out or run by themselves. I also know there are 3 Raft people trying to race at the same time in the same house. That isn't going to work.

High poly count models and damage are not network transferred data. That's all graphical representations that would be processed locally on the xbox.

Player speed, position, orientation, etc. are the only things that are going to be transferred over the network throughout a race.

Why would it be such a problem just to try one race with 12 person rooms? You guys are all coming from Forza 3 that had a limit of 8 per room, anyway.

Why should 95% of the field have to have a lesser race because a few people went with the cheap internet? Also these same few people lagged just as much with 8 person lobbies in FM3.

Now my turn. I was lagging bad last night in the beginning. I have great internet as does some other people having issues with the room and getting into it. So maybe the host should also have a great connection. This would have to be found out prior to releasing the names for the room host. I also had a bit of trouble trying to get in but I can connect very easy with others. And next season make a rule for it if it cannot be figured out this season.

Why would it be a problem? Because the same people that are lagging NOW (Outrun, JPN, the 3 raft guys that live in the same house, and a couple others) lagged in Forza 3 with 8 man lobbies or less. I lagged in Forza 3 as well, upgraded my internet plan, and now i can race with no lag while streaming the races in full 16 man lobbies, and my internet isnt even insanely fast. This is not an issue with Forza, this is an issue with the racers who lag.

I think I told you I was on your left side 3 times. This is mention in the Chat all the time...If you can't come safety back on the track then sit there to everyone passes. If you look at the replay I think I let 6 - 7 car pass me before I came on and when I came back on I stayed to the far right so I wouldn't take anyone out. I was very upset as I lost a lot of time . The good thing was I didn't get damage out of it. I am sure we will meet again and I hope it not the same outcome. See Ya on Sunday..

i lag really hard but i don't think people notice it, it only shows up on my screen. there's one internet provider where i live and i have the best internet i can :/ damn rural areas.
