| What lap time are we going to have to lay down to get into room A? I haven't been practicing with anyone this week, so I have no idea what the practice times look like. | |

| Might have to do a pre-race. I have a couple questions for it. May I do it myself considering that I was room host a couple times already? How many AI cars have to be on the track? | |

Most ppl who do a pre-race do it by themselves so the answer to your question is yes. here is setup info for a pre-race https://forzascs.forumotion.net/t434-qualifying-race-pre-race-room-set-up

| I might have to do a prerace as well, I didn't realize the saints game wasn't at noon and is actually at 7pm CST aka 5pm PST. I'm going to be working late tomorrow...I'll try to get in a qualifying time later tonight and possibly do a prerace later after that. | |

| Not sure about whether I will be able to race either. It's a bit of a crunch time at University and I don't think its wise spending too much time playing games right now. | |

| Yeah, this week is a bit odd. It has been a bit quite. I do think as it happens every season (we do have more of a real season) rookies join and we have about 10-15% don't make it past the first race. Then we loose another 15% that since they can't dominate they quit. Then we have the 2 or 3 that quit for miscellaneous reasons and another 3-5 that just can't handle endurance racing. Then as the season goes on we loose another 4-6. The retention rate of veterans is about 85% and the retention rate of rookies is about 40%. Endurance racing to a set of governing rules is not for everyone. This weeds out the impostors and leaves us with the racers...That's why we grow and get stronger each season. | |

| yeah the spread of qual times is definately larger this week (polls is probably low 1.53s, high 1.52s, last place in A lobby will probably be about 1.55.0) | |

| From Turn 10: - "In addition, we’ve also addressed the issues with countersteering when playing with the 900-degree wheel. Previously while countersteering, the 900-degree wheel was inadvertently being mapped as a 270-degree wheel -– effectively a 3:1 ratio. This had nothing to do with simulation versus normal steering or speed-sensitive steering. This was a mapping bug.
After some intensive play-testing internally, we were able to completely isolate the countersteering bug identified by the community and have implemented a fix that keeps the wheel mapped as a 900-degree wheel under all conditions. The result of this change will be more consistent steering and countersteering, though catching a car when getting loose in corner will require more wheel input and better timing. In essence, it’s even more realistic than before and I believe it will add an even greater simulation challenge for our most advanced drivers."
I just tried it this morning and my car is a completely different beast. Countersteering is a different ballgame now. I've always liked my car a little loose but this makes for a lot of work work. Back to practicing/tuning...

I've done more testing and arrive to the following conclusions: -The steering response/ratio does not change when you countersteer. -The ratio is however not linear. In other words, it seems to be overboosted around dead center. The change to the countersteering mechanics/code now accentuates the non-linear nature of the steering. This is why the car feels unresponsive as you countersteer beyond 90 degrees -- requiring a lot more wheel rotation. It is also the reason we are loosing our car as they start to drift. Whereas previously we could save the car thanks to the stepped-up ratio (masking the effects of the non-liner ratio), now additional steering input beyond a certain point translate into minimal rotation of steering axis. After some experimentation, I've been able to compensate for some of the effects of the update by reducing steering sensitivity to 700 degees (from 900 degrees) and increasing the linearity value to 10 percent (from 00 percent). I guess we will eventually adapt to the new steering scheme, but as of now it feels like its broken. As we go into tonight's race, I'm just shooting to survive what feels like a car possesed by the ghost of Spurtle. EDIT: Linearity value updated to increase off center feel/responsiveness.
